Removing Gel Nail Polish

Edwina Busuttil - INGLOT Manager Sliema The Strand complex

Many of our clients have asked us to guide them in removing their gel polish since they aren’t able to come to our salon right now. While all our nail technicians are highly trained to carry out this service with utmost care and professionalism, the situation does not allow us to be there to pamper you so we’ve created the below steps for you to be able to remove your gel nails safely at home!

Not just that, but we’ve also created a nail kit with all the products needed to help you take care of your nails until we can. All products required can be found in our Nail Kit: https://www.inglotlookbook.com/product-page/nail-kit

INGLOT the Studio Guide to Removing Gel Nails

Step 1: Wash hands with warm water and soap.

Step 2: Using the INGLOT orange nail file, gently file the gel from the nail surface being careful not to remove your natural nail surface.

Step 3: Using the INGLOT orange nail file, file the nail edge from the side of the nail to the centre of the nail using strokes in one direction.

Step 4: Apply INGLOT 24 Softening Nail Cuticle Oil to the cuticle, massaging gently in circular motions.

Step 5: Apply INGLOT 25 Conditioning Nail Oil to the nail plate, massaging gently in circular motions.

Step 6: Using the black surface of the INGLOT nail buffer, gently buff the nail.

Step 7: Continue buffing the nail using the pink surface of the INGLOT nail buffer.

Step 8: Finally, use the grey surface of the INGLOT nail buffer to finish off buffing the nail surface.

Step 9: Wash hands with warm water and soap to remove any dust residue.

Step 10: Apply INGLOT 17N Gel Effect Top Coat and allow to dry.

Acrylic nails? No problem! Use our INGLOT red nail file instead of the INGLOT orange nail file in Step 2. This can be purchased from the following link: https://www.inglotlookbook.com/product-page/nail-file-80-100-red

Continuous care

It is very important to continue caring for your nails after removing your gel polish. We suggest a weekly pampering session in which you remove the layer of INGLOT 17N Gel Effect Top Coat using INGLOT Nail Enamle Remover, massage the Softening Nail Cuticle Oil into your cuticles and Conditioning Nail Oil into the nail bed. This increases keratin in the nail. Finish off with a new layer of INGLOT 17N Gel Effect Top Coat for protection. Doing this on a weekly basis will promote the growth of healthier and stronger nails!
